An effective way of sampling insects is to use a suction sampler. The wide availability of petrol-powered leaf blowers and garden vacs provide a light, portable tool that with slight modification can be used in a variety of habitats. These suction bags fit inside the nozzles and are held in place with duct tape or similar.
