Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse through our online catalogue, and add any items that you wish to buy into your basket by clicking on Buy. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept payments via Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and American Expres. We do not charge for any item until it is ready for shipment, unless there is a long lead time and the authorisation to charge the card would expire. If you prefer you may send your credit card information via phone.
When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Shipping
Once orders are processed and goods are ready for despatch we have a few shipping options:
Default shipping charges for all UK mainland & BFPO orders is £6.75 + VAT. Orders received with the Default shipping applied means that we will use Royal Mail or Parcelforce depending on the size and weight of the parcel.
UK customers can also choose a cheaper option of Royal Mail 48 for £3.55 + VAT if the order is under 2kg and less than £50. Please note this option does NOT apply for any long items or chemicals.
Scottish Highlands and Islands includes postcodes AB31-56; FK17-21; all IV apart from IV4-9; KA27-28; KW1-17; PA20-80; PH17-50 and ZE1-3.
Small orders that can be sent by Large Letter post will be charged at £3.15 + VAT - your invoice will detail the final shipping charge.
For UK customers outside the mainland, minimum default courier charges are applied during checkout, however if the order can be sent via Royal Mail, then the postage may be able to be reduced accordingly. You can always call us or email for a quote first.
Orders are despatched to the delivery address input by the customer. Please note that if any details are incorrect and the parcel is returned to us, then the customer is liable for any costs incurred for the return and the second despatch.
Post/freight for overseas orders is charged at cost. Overseas customers are liable to customs clearance fees, any applicable duty and import taxes - these are payable to the carrier service usually once the parcel reaches Customs.
Where shipping is £0.00, this is to indicate that we will calculate the correct shipping charge once your order is received as it depends on the size and weight of the parcel required. Shipping costs will be confirmed via e-mail to ensure the customer is happy to proceed before the order is finalised.
Delivery Schedule
We do get very busy during the spring/summer season so please allow as much time as possible when ordering. Let us know in the special delivery instructions if you have a deadline you are trying to make, as we always do our best to deliver on time. We are a small company manufacturing our own brands products in house, so there can be delays during busy times.
UK orders once goods are prepared and ready are despatched according to the delivery service selected by the customer. If you need goods urgently it is always advisable to call us to see what we can achieve for you.
European orders are despatched on a 2-4 day service and other International orders are generally received within 5-7 working days from date of despatch. Please note since Brexit we have experienced longer delivery timescales so these are just a guide.
Back Orders
We usually wait until orders are complete before despatch, except where the waiting time for a particular item is likely to be long. You will always be emailed where there is a waiting time of more than 10 working days with the option to back order the outstanding item and part despatch.
Tax Charges
All our products except books and laminated charts are subject to VAT for orders made from the UK. The standard rate of 20% VAT is applied. All goods sent directly overseas to destinations are zero-rated, however the customer may have to pay taxes and customs clearance fees in their country to receive the goods.
Credit Card Security
When an order is placed at our website, we use SellerdeckPay by ClearAccept to process your credit/debit card details. SellerdeckPay by ClearAccept is our ecommerce payment service provider, they are fully PCI DSS compliant and ensures our website is fully secure and that we comply with the latest credit/debit card fraud prevention regulations.
